In case anyone reading this blog has an interest in restored Harmonys, Regals, Stellas and similar instruments I know of no one better than Marty Reynolds.
What he does to these instruments is nothing short of amazing. Some of the ladder braced ones are fantastic for finger style blues.
Check out the movie and slides of the restoration of a ladder braced Harmony H1260 on his website. I recently played that guitar and was blown away.

I just got a restored Stella from Marty, it’s a great little guitar and I plan to use it in a Civil War production I’m part of. It’ll be perfect for that.
We are having a run of great fall weather and it’s hard to spend it on the shop!
A couple of weeks ago a gentleman called me. He had bought #10, the very first guitar I hung at the Dinkytown Podium in 2006 with the intention of learning to play.
He never did and it sat in it’s case for 8 years strung up. He kept the humidifier full and took good care of it. I looked it over, re-glued the bridge with hide, tweaked the neck set, reinforced the tenon bolts as I am doing now and re-did the setup.
It’s essentially a new guitar and looks, plays and sounds great. Indian Rosewood/Seasoned Sitka. 1 3/4-2 1/4 spacing. 25.4 scale. Has the old shamrock logo on the headstock. It should be a good bargain for someone.
